Condolence

Statement by Councillor Loveday Jenkin, Chairman of Crowan Parish Council:

“It was with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. She was a truly remarkable, much loved and respected individual. Throughout her long reign she provided a sense of continuity, stability and leadership during times of great social change and will be greatly missed by both the Royal Family and the peoples of Britain and the Commonwealth.

“Others have paid tribute to her devotion to duty and her life of public service and I would like to join with these tributes. She touched the lives of so many people of all generations and her death marks the end of an era in the life of the British Isles”.

“On behalf of Crowan Parish Council and the residents of the parish of Crowan, I extend my sincere and deepest condolences to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty the Queen. We join the Commonwealth in mourning.”

A book of condolence is being made available for signing at the Parish Church in Crowan village.

No public Parish meetings will be held until after the Funeral but essential Parish business will continue as normal.
