Crowan Parish Council is Trustee of three local Trusts – Nancegollan Village Hall, Praze Institute and Praze Playing Field.
When you become a councillor you automatically become a Trustee of these three organisations. However, the roles of councillors and Trustees are kept separate to ensure that the council’s public money is properly used and the charitable aims of the Trusts are not compromised.
In the case of Nancegollan Village Hall and Praze Institute, the Trusts have management committees that are responsible for their day-to-day running. The council’s role in these Trusts is simply to hold the Deeds of the properties. It can also give assistance to the management committees, if asked.
Praze Playing Field Trust has no management committee, so day-to-day management is also undertaken by the councillors.
For more information about the role of the council as a Trustee, please contact the Clerk by email using clerk@crowan-pc.gov.uk.
